10 Easy Ways to Become More Beautiful

The idea of beauty is a little strange to me. Trying to become more beautiful is even stranger. It implies that you’re somehow lacking in something, and that isn’t the message I like to share on The Violet Journal. That being said, there are certainly things you can do to become more beautiful – inside and out. Taking care of your mental and physical health, and taking pride in your appearance will all help you appear more beautiful to those around you.

Being beautiful, as I hope you already know, isn’t just about your physical appearance. It’s also about confidence, kindness, and your inner state of being. This article will cover 10 ways you can become more attractive to other people, from taking care of your physical appearance to becoming a happier person who attracts positive energy.

10 Ways to Become More Beautiful and Attractive to Others

1. Have a Good Skincare Routine

Having good skin is one of the best ways to look and feel more beautiful. Unfortunately, genetics play a huge role in your skin’s appearance, but there are still steps you can take to improve your skin and make it glow.

If you’re unsure of where to start, I suggest starting with a good cleanser and moisturiser – make sure you get the right ones for your skin type! I also suggest using an exfoliator, preferably a chemical exfoliant such as the Pixi Glow Tonic as they’re much gentler than the traditional scrubs. Finally, I would invest in some serums such as hyaluronic acid and a vitamin C serum

You may also like to incorporate sheet masks into your skincare routine like I do – they’re completely optional as the results are only temporary and they’re quite expensive for what they are, but I do enjoy my weekly sheet mask. After I use a sheet mask I can really notice the difference in my skin for a couple of days.

2. Prioritise Your Diet

Your diet is one of the best ways to take care of your physical health. Eating right will help you look and feel your best, and in turn help you be more attractive. Eating a nutrient rich diet full of whole foods will provide you with enough energy to fuel your days, and help your skin glow.

Don’t underestimate the power of vitamins and supplements as part of a healthy diet. It’s hard to get all the nutrients you need from your diet alone, and vitamins are a good way to know you’re giving your body everything it needs. I’d suggest taking a blood test that can identify any deficiencies – I felt like a new person once I discovered and treated my deficiencies in iron and vitamin D.

A hair, skin and nails vitamin is also a great way to enhance your natural beauty. They can really help your appearance, especially if you struggle with brittle hair and nails.

3. Wear Perfume

I didn’t discover perfume until I was in my 20s, and it’s been a real game changer. It feels amazing to walk into a room and be complimented on your scent. Wearing perfume will make you feel more confident, and in turn help you appear more attractive to others.

If you’re interested, check out my favourite scent of all time – Black Opium by Yves Saint Laurent. I rarely wear it without someone complimenting me or asking me what perfume I’m wearing.

4. Meditate

Beauty isn’t just about your physical appearance – it’s also about your inner state. People will perceive a happier, more positive person as more attractive than someone who’s miserable and complains all the time.

Meditating for just 10 minutes every day can help you become a happier, healthier, and more focussed person. If you’re sceptical just try it! My favourite meditation app is Medito – it’s completely free and offers fantastic meditation courses, from beginner to advanced.

5. Exercise Every Day

Exercising every day – if you don’t already – is one of the best ways to transform your life. Exercising regularly will help you become a happier, more confident person, and in turn help you appear more beautiful to others. It will also help you stay healthier for longer, and help you reach or maintain a healthy weight.

You don’t need to go to the gym every single day to get the benefits of regular exercise. Your daily exercise could include going for a short walk or run outside, playing with your kids, or following a workout video in the comfort of your own home.

6. Stay on Top of Housework

Beauty isn’t just about how you present yourself. It’s also about how you present your home. Imagine you’ve found someone who ticks all the right boxes, but then you walk into their home. Their kitchen and bathroom are dirty, and their bedroom is a mess. How do you feel? Now imagine you walk in and their home is clean, tidy, and inviting – it’s somewhere you actually want to spend your time.

Having a tidy home will instantly make you more attractive to anyone who steps foot in there. It will also help you to feel more relaxed and happy in your day to day life. Doing a little housework each day is an easy habit to get into, and will go a long way in helping you be more desirable to other people.

7. Get Your Hair Done Regularly

Having a good hairstyle is one of the easiest ways to refresh your appearance and make you appear more beautiful. It can be easy to neglect your hair – especially if you’re busy. In the past I’ve been known to put off getting my hair cut for far too long, and the consequences are a dry, worn out hairstyle. Getting your hair cut regularly will help it stay healthy and look gorgeous.

You should also put some work into finding a hair care routine that suits your hair’s texture. This may take some research and a little trial and error, but the benefits are wonderful.

8. Write in a Gratitude Journal Every Day

There’s nothing less attractive than a person who doesn’t appreciate what they have. Do you know anyone who’s constantly complaining – even about things that don’t really matter in the long run? One of the best ways of avoiding becoming this way is to practice gratitude every day.

At the end of each day, write down three things you’re grateful for. This will help rewire your brain to appreciate what you do have, rather than yearn for things you don’t.

9. Learn to Cook

There are few things more satisfying than cooking a delicious meal for your friends, family and loved ones. They’ll also love you for it! Invest in a good cookbook and put some work into learning one or two new recipes every week.

10. Wear Clothes You Feel Good in

Your wardrobe plays a huge factor in how attractive you appear to other people.

Take a few hours out of your day or week to sort out your clothes. Get rid of anything that’s too big or too small, as well as anything that’s broken, doesn’t suit you, or you haven’t worn in a while.
